The Finance and Administration Committee ordinarily sits 6 times per calendar year, however special meetings may be sanctioned as and when deemed necessary by Council.
The Committee shall be responsible for: –
- Overseeing the running of financial transactions of the Full Council.
To check on the following:
- That Council books of accounts are in order,
- Council financial resolutions are being implemented,
- Procurement criteria are met in terms of the budget and Council resolutions.
- Ensuring that Council dues are being paid in time and to source for other funds for the Council,
- Be responsible for Risk Management,
- Supervising the preparation of the budget for presentation to the Executive Committee,
- They are the internal auditors of the Full Council and offer financial advice on investment matters,
- Ensuring the production and implementation of policies that assist the smooth running of council business.
- Ensuring that the council’s books of accounts and the reports given are audited yearly.
- Assisting Council to adhere to its strategic direction.
- Responsible for conducting training needs assessments
- Capacity building for its employees and councilors.
- They give day to day direct supervision to the office of Council.
- Performance appraisals for the secretariat and the Council chairperson
- Doing any such other thing incidental to or connected with the foregoing,
