The Finance and Administration Committee ordinarily sits 6 times per calendar year, however special meetings may be sanctioned as and when deemed necessary by Council.

The Committee shall be responsible for: –

  • Overseeing the running of financial transactions of the Full Council.

To check on the following:

  • That Council books of accounts are in order,
  • Council financial resolutions are being implemented,
  • Procurement criteria are met in terms of the budget and Council resolutions.
  • Ensuring that Council dues are being paid in time and to source for other funds for the Council,
  • Be responsible for Risk Management,
  • Supervising the preparation of the budget for presentation to the Executive Committee,
  • They are the internal auditors of the Full Council and offer financial advice on investment matters,
  • Ensuring the production and implementation of policies that assist the smooth running of council business.
  • Ensuring that the council’s books of accounts and the reports given are audited yearly.
  • Assisting Council to adhere to its strategic direction.
  • Responsible for conducting training needs assessments
  • Capacity building for its employees and councilors.
  • They give day to day direct supervision to the office of Council.
  • Performance appraisals for the secretariat and the Council chairperson
  • Doing any such other thing incidental to or connected with the foregoing,
