Compliance Enforcement
- This explains authorisations of activities that are done within the Cement and Lime and Allied Industry regulatory framework. Through the services of the Designated Agent of the Employment Council, there is quality assurance within the realms of labour practices by all players across the industry. Standards are generally specified within the confines of a specified industry and may not be applicable across industries.
- Industry standards are usually communicated through the Collective Bargaining Agreement which in turn culminates into the regulatory framework from which all members will be expected to adopt and or to adapt their labour practices. Ordinarily through the inspectorate and resolution of disputes roles, the industry provides guidance and harmonisation of labour practices as well as bringing uniformity to the operations of players across the board.
- Enforcement actions will take the form of encouragements where such will still be necessary. This will usually take the form of inducements, persuasion and or conciliatory procedures in order to entice compliance and where the earlier steps may potentially fail to bring sanity to the set expectations, the regulating agent may compel a member to comply by giving a directive for an address to be made within a specified time fame, failure for which invites litigation processes.
