The Cement and Lime Employers Association
The Cement and Lime Employers association is a body corporate. It was registered with the Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare on the 29th day of June 1994. The association has a lot of similarities with the Union in its scope of coverage, they have a constitution that binds the way they conduct their business, admission of members into the association, manner and intervals for the handling of meetings. However, contrary to the Union, the Cement and Lime Employers Association is responsible for the following:
- Promoting, protecting and coordinating the interests of all employers in the industry.
- Encouraging the full cooperation of members in order to achieve a united approach on all matters which may affect their common interests.
- Encouraging and promoting just and honourable approach on all matters which may affect their common interests.
- Participating in the decision making process for the industry regulatory body (NEC), making sure that all industry regulations that are put in place, are very sensitive and fair down to the less established employers.
