The executive committee ordinarily sits 4 times a year, however, special meetings may be sanctioned when it is deemed necessary by council.

Executive Committee shall have the powers to:

• Carry out the objectives of the NEC Constitution and give effect thereto;
• Make interim decisions on behalf of full council where matters are deemed of greater urgency, however they will submit their report for ratification by full council.
• Administer and enforce the provisions of any agreement arrived at by the parties and published in terms of the Act and the CBA
• Carry into effect decisions of Full Council;
• Deal with such specific matters as may be referred to it by the Council;
• Enquire into and make recommendations to the Council on any matters affecting the Industry;
• Use its efforts to avoid disputes between employers and employees and to endeavour to settle disputes which may occur;
• Make, adopt and submit to the Council for their ratification rules or variations of rules relating to the administration of any funds under its control;
• Appeal to the Full Council in matters where the affected or aggrieved persons or party deems necessary.
